Laser hair removal uses different wavelengths to selectively target the hair follicle (selective photothermolysis). Choosing the right "wave" depends on your skin type (skin color) and hair characteristics.

Main Wavelengths

• 755 nm (Alexandrite): Ideal for light/fine hair and light skin types. Very powerful but less safe on darker skin. Fitzpatrick scale type I - III.
• 808 nm / 810 nm (Diode): The standard for progressive hair removal. Balances depth and safety, suitable for almost all skin types. Fitzpatrick scale type I - V.
• 1064 nm (Nd:YAG): Safest for dark or tanned skin. Penetrates deeply, acting on blood vessels supplying the follicle rather than just melanin. Fitzpatrick scale type IV - VI.

Multi-Wave Technologies Advanced devices now combine these wavelengths into a single applicator:
