• Built-in griddle: A griddle designed to be integrated into the kitchen countertop.
• Griddle: A type of griddle, often used in professional settings, which can be smooth or ribbed, and powered by gas or electricity.

• Griddle cooking (or plancha): A cooking method that involves using a heated surface to cook food, often without the addition of additional fat, exploiting the food's own juices.
• Grilling (with a smooth or ribbed griddle): The surface of the griddle can be smooth or ribbed. The ribbed griddle is particularly suitable for meat, creating a grilled effect.

• A type of cooking similar to the plancha, but using a natural stone griddle.
