Thalassotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses the benefits of the marine climate, sea water and its derivatives (such as algae, mud and sand) for healing and wellness purposes. The term derives from the Greek "thalassa" (sea) and "therapia" (cure). Although it has not been scientifically proven definitively, thalassotherapy is often used as an adjuvant in the treatment of respiratory, dermatological, osteoarticular and muscular disorders, as well as promoting relaxation and general well-being.
