Maintenance instructions

MAINTENANCE: always keep the tips of the instruments protected and avoid accidental knocks or falls.

1. thoroughly clean the instruments in order to eliminate all organic and inorganic residues using non-abrasive brushes and pipe cleaners or iron washing / ultrasonic cleaning machines. If you use specific detergents, strictly follow the manufacturer’s instructions, respecting the methods and times provided;
2. steam sterilization with autoclave is recommended, by carrying out the procedures correctly. If sterilizing powders or liquids are used, carefully follow the dosage and soaking instructions indicated by the manufacturer, to avoid the risk of corrosion even of stainless steel;
3. pay particular attention to the rinsing and drying phase: thoroughly clean the instruments with running water (or follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the sterilizing agent) and proceed with drying taking care to remove all residues of water and / or humidity. The use of compressed air spray AIRY cod. CO-427A is recommended;
4. lubricate the parts subject to rubbing (joints, recesses and screws). We recommend the use of silicone lubricant LUBSIL cod. CO-417S.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Incorrect cleaning, disinfection and / or sterilization procedures can cause the formation of corrosion and / or blackening of the instruments.

In order to avoid damaging them by compromising their use, it is recommended:
After cleansing, the instruments must be rinsed under running water to leave no traces of the liquids used. To obtain better results, especially in situations where the water is particularly calcareous, it would be advisable to use demineralized water: most of the water systems carry water containing mineral particles and the pipes accumulate over the years residues that will deposit on your instruments encrusting and staining them.

Drying is of particular importance for the success of the whole process, especially regarding the conservation of instruments: the materials must be dried carefully using soft and clean sheets, or, preferably, with compressed air, which facilitates the removal of such residues from hollow parts, recesses and joints.

Failure to dry may cause corrosion, instrument oxidation and / or staining. All materials that have deteriorated parts (breakages, etc.) or rust, must be suitably repaired or treated with specific products, or destined for a new session of the cycles to which they have already been subjected.
The instruments must not be subjected to high temperature treatments: it is advisable to observe the instructions and recommendations of the autoclave manufacturers to perform the sterilization cycles using the appropriate time - temperature - steam parameters: the overexposing the instruments during incorrect cycles could cause rust or blackening of the instruments as well as damage to the passivating surface layer of the stainless steel.
