What is an Empty Leg?

In private aviation, an Empty Leg is a flight a private jet needs to operate without passengers in order to reposition for its next mission or return to a particular operating base.

When the aircraft must make that journey anyway, its available seats can become a travel opportunity. Destination, airport, date and departure time are determined by the aircraft's operational schedule and may therefore change.

This does not mean freely choosing any destination and departure time as with a dedicated private jet charter. Instead, members take advantage of a journey that the aircraft is already scheduled to operate.

Milan, London, Naples and other destinations progressively covered by K Air 79 operations can therefore become departure or arrival points for Empty Leg opportunities, depending on actual aircraft movements.

What costs remain payable?

The eligible Empty Leg flight is included in the annual membership. Passengers remain responsible for excluded charges, where applicable, including insurance for the individual journey, applicable taxes or duties relating to private air transport, and airport fees and charges.

These amounts are calculated separately because they may vary according to departure and arrival airports, route, number of passengers, applicable regulations and airport services required. K Air 79 communicates applicable additional costs before flight confirmation.

Freedom to travel when an opportunity appears

Empty Legs are particularly suitable for passengers with flexibility regarding dates, times and destinations. Routes arise from actual fleet operations rather than a schedule created specifically for an individual passenger.
