The essence of Neroli is a precious essential oil extracted from the flowers of bitter orange (Citrus aurantium var. amara) through steam distillation. It owes its name to Princess Marie Anne de La Trémoille (Princess of Nerola in the 17th century), who made it famous by using it to scent her gloves and bath water.
