Eucalyptus Honey
Eucalyptus honey is a distinctive honey with a hint of licorice. It is a strong and aromatic honey, highly prized for its therapeutic properties.
Available sizes:
40 g / 1.41 oz
125 g / 4.41 oz
250 g / 8.82 oz
500 g / 17.64 oz
Description
This honey boasts a generally higher than 90% eucalyptus pollen content, closely reflecting the properties, aromas, and flavors of the plant from which it derives.
Flavor: The flavor of eucalyptus honey is not appreciated by everyone, as it is very strong, but it has many admirers among the most refined palates. It is reminiscent of licorice and caramel, sometimes even slightly salty.
Origin: The honey's nectar source is the eucalyptus tree, which is mainly found in coastal areas with a mild climate.
Harvest Season: Eucalyptus has two flowering periods, depending on the species: summer and autumn.
The harvest season therefore occurs in June and late August.
Beneficial Properties: Eucalyptus honey is associated with the therapeutic properties of the plant itself: antipyretic, healing for sore throats, coughs, and colds.
Food Uses: Eucalyptus honey can be widely used in cooking with fish or vegetable dishes and paired with cheeses. However, its most common use is as a sweetener in herbal teas and as a treat for hot milk.
